Enjoy the formula 1 of the sea with Benabola

On the 1st and 2nd of June, the Marbella marina will be the setting for the E1 Puerto Banús GP, known as the “Formula 1 of the Sea” This exciting event will bring to Puerto Banús a high-speed electric boat competition, with teams captained by international celebrities and renowned drivers.

A spectacular stage.

The race will take place right in front of the harbour, next to the breakwater, on a water surface of 490.000 square metres in front of the Cívitas Puerto Banús facilities. Some 8.000 spectators are expected to attend the race days, with a 5.000 square metre area on the beach for the Acceleration Festival and the race viewing area.

Event Programme

• 31 May: Opening of the event with a concert by Marc Anthony at Oasisss Marbella Fest, in front of 15.000 people.1 June: Qualifying races for the teams.2 June: Semi-finals and final of the competition.

During the day, the atmosphere is relaxed, with a quality restaurant and massages available. DJs create a relaxing summer ambience that gradually develops into a party atmosphere. The club’s theme parties are famous for being as glamorous as they are exciting and lively.

First-level captains.

Team captains include actor and singer Will Smith, who will lead a team that includes Spanish driver Lucas Ordóñez, known for his participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In addition, other personalities such as Rafa Nadal, Marc Anthony, Sergio Pérez, Didier Drogba, Tom Brady and Steve Aoki will also lead teams in this exciting competition.

All teams will be made up of one man and one woman, who will compete for exactly the same time in the races. Professional riders such as Laia Sanz and Cris Lazarraga will represent Spain.

Media and Economic Impact.

The Mayoress of Marbella has highlighted the great media impact and the economic return that it will mean for the city, with an estimated cumulative audience of over 1.000 million people on social networks and an economic impact of more than 25 million euros.
